ITV

Infotainment Television Private Limited, better known as ITV, is one of India’s most highly respected English language current affairs production houses. Established in 2001, this company has not only built up an enviable reputation but also established firm and lasting working relationships with some of the world’s leading television broadcasters.

Some of the most widely seen work the company has done is for the BBC. For six years nonstop it made HARDtalk India and Face to Face, two interview based programmes. ITV has also made Question Time India, Dateline India and a series of budget special programmes for the BBC.

In Asia, ITV has done extensive work for the Singapore channel Channel NewsAsia. It’s programme The India Debate was a critically applauded part of Channel NewsAsia’s programme schedule.

For the last four years ITV has made for CNBC TV18 the four times a week current affairs programme India Tonight, which is today considered India’s most respected daily current affairs show. Each day India Tonight tackles a single subject and invites three or four participants from different points of view to discuss the issue.

In January 2006 ITV launched Devil’s Advocate on CNN-IBN and this is now firmly established as India’s best known and most prestigious weekly interview programme. In the two and a half years of its existence, Devil’s Advocate has interviewed Former President Musharraf of Pakistan, President Karzai of Afghanistan, Chairman Prachanda of Nepal, President Zardari and Prime Minister Gillani of Pakistan, the late Ms. Benazir Bhutto and Mr. Nawaz Sharif as well as all the leading Indian politicians, both from the government and the opposition, as well as the top chief ministers from the states.

Amongst world leaders, Devil’s Advocate has interviewed Dr. Henry Kissinger, The Dalai Lama and Lady Pamela Hicks (neé Mountbatten).

In the 17 years of its existence, ITV has won five Asian Television Awards for Best Current Affairs Presenter and one for best Current Affairs Programme.
